Izzy Mo Inspired Craft

We decided that our craft for the day would be painting. My oldest was so excited because he hadn’t yet opened these paints that were part of his gift for ‘eid. Painting is always so much fun because it relieves so much stress and you can let your mind and hand guide you without restrictions (by this I mean that you can even just throw paint). After painting a few pictures each, I came on the computer to show my oldest some paintings drawn by hand so he could see how others use their brushes. We ended up at Izzy Mo’s site and he saw Anemone. It immediately set him off and he decided he wanted a try because he thought it was just so beautiful, masha’Allah.

And then we went for something else.

It was a lot of fun and allowed us to appreciate Izzy’s efforts.

Beautiful, and not just because they’re a child’s work. Ma sha’ Allah, your boy is talented! If you don’t mind my asking, how old is he?

Masha’Allah. Umm Layth, I really enjoyed this post, thank you so much for sharing. Masha’Allah those paintings are very beautiful and I just love it when I see mothers actively taking part in their kids lives. Today, so many wouldn’t bother spending this little bit of extra time doing something interesting and fun with their children.
    Good for you!

Nora! Thank you so much for such a lovely and encouraging comment. It is very important to me to listen to my children (though there are the bad days when you just want to eat ice cream and sleep ;p) and give them the means to get involved in things they enjoy. Insha’Allah I hope to become better at it.

    Asalaamu alaikum,
Oh, dear, why I am just seeing this!? Oh, how wonderful? It’s so lovely to see those creative instincts following from our kids. :-) And how great that you are encouraging him since some parents choose not to. Thanks for linking me. I’m so glad he got some inspiration.
